Reproduction of Kennedy Family Photograph. 8"x10". On February 13, 1962 after an unusual Washington Snowfall, the First Lady called for the sleigh and Caroline's pony, Macaroni to be brought in from their farm in Virginia so she could take Caroline and her classmates sleighing. The President's personal photographer, Cecil Stoughton, recoqnized the photographic potential on that snowy day and snapped this photo. Press Secretary Pierre Salinger had an agreement with the media that they were not to disrupt the children's private lives by stealing photographs of them through the fence. This was later released to the press, so all could cover the story. Pleased to have the picture of this moment to remember, the President and Mrs. Kennedy decided to use the wintry picture for their second official White House Christmas Card. This is Not the Christmas Card, but a Stoughton photograph used for the card.
