Artist Robert Laessig's Blue Room card and gift print painted showcased the official White House Christmas tree in 1967 for President and Mrs. Lyndon Baines Johnson. The White House ordered 3000 lithographs of the Blue Room from American Greetings. The accompanying parchment message read: The first White House Christmas tree was introduced in 1889 by President Benjamin Harrison, a custom he asked 'be followed by every family in the land. It is the hope of the President and Mrs. Johnson that the lights which blaze on the tree and the trees throughout our nation rekindle the ancient promise of the Christmas season. "Peace on Earth, goodwill to men.'" 14 x 18 inches.
