Obama came to WH without a pet, but promised their girls a dog. Bo, a Portuguese waterdog, a gift from Sen Ted Kennedy, arrived in 2009. Bo became a media darling right away. Michelle Obama jokes that “Bo is the most famous member of the Obama family.” In 2010 volunteers created a 4’statue of Bo made up of 40,000 pipe cleaners as part of the Christmas decorations. Christmas, 2011 Mrs. Obama challenged youngsters to find Bo in every room. Where’s Bo? He was depicted a in 1911 pieces of licorice pompoms and 6850 feet of trash bags. A second PWD, Sunny joined Bo in the White House. Do you have a Portuguese Water Dog?
