The White House National Park Ornament

Most people are not aware that the White House is a National Park. This ornament depicts guests arriving at the North Portico of the White House in horse drawn carriages during the Lincoln Grant era. Decorative frosted ornament features a likeness of a photograph of the Executive Mansion by L.E. Walker that had originally appeared in Harper's Weekly in 1877. Rosalyn Carter discovered a hand-colored wood carving of the photo and had the art reproduced as their 1978 Christmas card.
