2001 State Dining Room in the White House seats as many as 140 guests. Originally it was much smaller and served as a drawing room, office and cabinet room. Andrew Jackson named it the State Dining Room. A letter written by John Adams in 1800 were carved into the mantle, below George P. Healey's portrait of Abraham Lincoln. The words appear on the back of the ornament. Gold Gift Box
