The ornament depicts the west front of the Capitol in Springtime. It features the magnificent Cherry Blossom trees given to the City of Washington from the City of Tokyo. Mrs. William Taft planted the first tree around the Tidal Basin in 1912. The Cherry Blossom Festival is held each spring in DC. This year is the 100th anniverary of that gift of 3000 trees and will be held March 20-April 27. The 10 cm glass ball ornament is hand-painted in Poland. Gift Boxed
