George Washington Cypher Trivet. Virginia Metalcrafters. Colonial artisans intertwined the letters of the alphabet into a practical monogram or cipher. Frequently used as an embellishment on the owners coach, clothing or wax seal. Early trivets were placed over hot coals and used for cooking. Today it is used to protect wood from damage from heat or water. Presidential series has collector appeal. Made in America.
