Renbrandt Peale's Thomas Jefferson was the subject of President and Mrs. Nixon's Gift to their White House staff. Hallmark reproduced 4000 of the gift print which was enclosed in a green velour folder. The parchment page described it as follows: "Rembrandt Peale's portrait of Thomas Jefferson hangs in the Blue Room of the White House.The painting was done from life in 1800...It has been called the true Jefferson--the man, the statesman, and the serene human being." The greeting read: " With our best wishes. The President and Mrs. Nixon at Christmas 1970."
