We began collecting White House Christmas ornaments when we married in 1981. In fact, our first two are the originals made from the copper gutters! This is one of our favorite collections, and both of our daughters have complete sets as well. We add to all three collections each year, and this year's gingerbread house is a wonderful addition to the sequence.

The design is , I believe, unusual for the White House ornaments. The designs are usually about the first family and their time living in the White House. This year the design of the ornament celebrates the house itself. Unique and very nice.
